Ach, there's no fun in Potter spoilers...also, reading on a PC? It's just not the same... ...I'm going for an all-nighter, I want to get it finished by morning, because I know some bastard will try to ruin it for me if I'm not done by 09:00. Ah, how I love Harry Potter, but it is fitting that all things should come to an end...I hope none of my favourites die, although they inevitably will!

Bah, I'm only getting it on Sunday. What's the point of working in a bookstore if they don't send the books ahead, I ask thee! And I'm working 8 hours a day every day next week.

I'm so bored... 90 more minutes until i leave for the shop.

I leave in a minute, I'm not doing an all-nighter but I'm not leaving the house, watching the tv or going online unil I have finshed it! I really hope nobody gets it spoiled a it would ruin a great story for everyone! I'm so excited now though, my brain can't take muxh more suspense!!!

I had finished it by 6am on Saturday morning... ...I did a slow read of it again, but finished that by 10pm on Saturday too. No discussing until everyone has finished, but some of my predictions were correct, which I am most chuffed about! All in all, an inspiring end to a wonderful series of books, and tears aplenty for all concerned. Page 551 = the saddest thing I have ever read.

You read quickly! I started at 9 am yesterday morning and finished at 2.40 am this mornign, had a few breaks though. It is one of the saddest books I've read, I agree about your selection Exodia, but other parts made me much sadder (not going to mention any just now). Gonna read again I think once the other half has read it - wish he would hurry up!

There is one thing that actually makes me want to punsh J.K. Rowling right in face... why did she let both Tonks and Lupin die? They just had a baby ffs!

Snape made the ultimate sacrifice though - he died with everyone believing him to be Lord Voldemort's right-hand man: betrayer of the Potters, murderer of Dumbledore, and Death Eater. In fact, for his relatively brief period of loyalty to the Dark Arts, he paid the price everyday for the rest of his life. Also, the way he looked into Harry's eyes on his death, looking into Lily's for the last time...heart-breaking, completely heart-breaking... ...I agree that killing off Tonks/Lupin was very harsh - but it was somewhat inevitable that Moony/Wormtail/Padfoot/Prongs would die tragically! I'd have hated for Tonks to be left behind, pining for Lupin!

The Potter/Voldemort duel though - classic. The way he called him 'Riddle',I loved it - for the first time, Harry was in control, master of his own death.

I couldn't agree more... that's just totally heart-breaking...
it lives up to Snape being (one of) the best character(s), too.


As for the Tonks and Lupin thing... i would have been okay with it really, hadn't they not just had a baby.

It’s an abomination to God. I wonder how many youngsters skipped church this Sunday to finish "the book"?

I used to feel nothing but hate towards Snape, however I always knew there was a cnoncrete reason for Dumbledore to trust him, and I have to say that's not what I expected. It really was very sad, and as for Lupin and Tonks - that upset me the most in the whole thing! And poor Teddy!! I cried bucketloads, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
