Another excellent article by mr. Hitchens. It's nice to read the articles of someone conservative without automatically feeling the need to disagree. A brand new feeling, for me.

Maybe the guy is just a bit stressed - you know what it's like. the worry of having all those millions, and not know how to spend it. And he has 6 kids. It has possibly all got too much for him, and like poor Kula Shaker, the press have not been favourable. This is just one guys word. Doesn't mean it is true. The drunk driving offence - well we have Los Angeles Police Department to believe on that, so perhaps I am more likely to believe that. But on a lighter note, he has signed himself into a good rehab clinic to get the help he needs. God Bless Betty Ford eh?

Well yes, it's hard to believe that he used to be left wing.
But! He has some good points if you take them out of the greater context. I don't know much about the issues that he largely talks of, but I'll usually find a nugget of truth here and there.
What I'm starting to realize is that procaliming to be either left or right wing will inevitably lead to a distorted view of most issues. That being said, I'm fundamentally into solidarity and I like the idea of socialism, but I don't want to ignore the views of the right as a consequence.
