Well virtually none of my top ten are still producing music but I've listend to alot of new people this year - new to me anyway!

1: The very wonderful, talented I'd-do-her-if-I was-a lesbian, PJ Harvey. Such an amazing artist.
2:Nick Drake
3:Queen Adreena
4: Kate Bush
5:Tori Amos
6:Kula Shaker - the only decent comeback this year, can't wait for the album.
7:Eliza Carthy - for her fiddle playing alone, but the rest is damn good too
8:The Mediaeval Baebes - not only do they make great music but one gave me some clothes too. Can you ask from more of a band?
9:Hedningarna - just discovered these lot through Dan and they are amazing. Eastern European folk madness - brilliant!
10: Miranda Sex Garden - continuing to delight and find newness in songs I've known for ages.

An honourable mention has to go to Free, who I've re-discovered from my childhood when my mum used to play me their stuff and Love who I'm just getting into.

Katie Jane is another one on my list of would-do-her-if-I-were-a-lesbian women. They've split up now though.
