Yeah, you're right. It's sales that say how good a band are. And sales are dictated by, on the whole, airplay. And airplay is an entirely fair system in which songs are chosen on their genius and not because they have a lavish promotions team. *rolls eyes*

Alright kids, get off the attacking LadyP band bandwagon! Please excuse me for my simpleton views, I'm an archaeologist so I'm not completely familiar with the workings of the music business. Geez people!

At the end of the day you're right, unfortunately. In this day and age if a band has one album that bombs out in the charts they get dropped. I noticed this with Embrace when they were signed to HUT.
A band can release a work of complete genius but unless they sold the album by the bucket load you'll never see them again. It's a shame that a lot of people read the NME and "actually" pay attention to what is said by the talentless pricks who write in that god awful shower of shit excuse for a magazine.
It all makes perfect sense, expressed in Dollars and Cents, Pounds, Shillings and Pence.

Record Companies these days don't seem to be willing to nurture a band through a couple of albums until they find their voice. It seems to be that if they can't do an Artic Monkeys or Kooks then they're not interested.
The kooks are shite, i dont like their music, their ugly little boy faces and the fact that they are given regular air time on radio 1, the arctic monkeys are alright though!
