Have you heard the new oasis album dig out your soul there is a song on there called To be where there's life I think but they have deffo been listening to the lads.

I was half expecting Mr Mills to come bounding in. To be fair I like oasis but I was a bit shocked to hear a sitar on an oasis song.

Does anyone know if Noel as said anything about Kula in the past would love to know.

Well, there is this:

"I have waited to be here
Now I feel you, feel you near
Take me home"

Indeed, it is a bit Kula like. Perhaps Jay is bringing some influences to Oasis. I think its a good track except for the lyric 'dig out your soul - cos here we go'. It builds up to this one line for a little while, and Liam delivers it very well, but to end with 'cos here we go' is a little disapointing.

I like Falling Down (current single), and I went straight to it as I saw in the sleeve that Jay was involved in recording it!

Who Feels Love from Standing on the Shoulder of Giants also had a very 60s/psychedelic sound to it.

Look for signs and portents...

Yeah, I always thought that track was Oasis at their most psychedelic (if not exactly their best.) It has that (vaguely) Indian drone kind of thing going on musically, and the lyrics are in a similar vein. I hoped at the time they'd develop that kind of thing further, but it seemed to be a bit of a dead end for them sadly.

I'm a big fan of both bands and I think it would be great if they could patch things up and tour the US together. I'd be very surprised if it happened, but very stoked.
I saw Oasis in Cleveland a couple years ago with Jet and Kasabian, and Jay was in top form. Stayed after to try to talk to him but he was nowhere to be found.
And btw, I like the new Oasis album alot. Especially I'm Outta Time, Falling Down, and Soldier On.

Oasis have a song called "Hindu Times" which I'm sure feature some Indian instruments. To be honest I think that Noel is more influenced by the Beatles and their musical styles than anyone else (or copies them to within an inch of their lives!)

However, the Beatles were also a huge influence on Crispian, so they both take inspiration from the same place, it's bound to create some similarities in their music.

I am the smile that was secretly offered
No hesitation for your delight
Before hurt, before love was questioned
And we believed in love at first sight

i wish Jay all the best of luck, but i still think Oasis are mostly twats.

they are proof that liking The Beatles doesn't automatically make you intelligent.
anyway - The Rolling Stones are much better.Smiler
