Beck's country???

beck is considered alt country...not the last album obv. but he is more alt country than alt-rock...sort of like the Eels.

Eels!!?!?!!

No. You listen to C&I and then listen to Beautiful Freak. Definite difference there.

Listen to C&I, then listen to the albums eels did after that: daisies of the galaxy, souljacker and shooteanny...then you'll see quite frightning similarites!

I don't wanna listen to them now!

When Eels supported Pulp in 1998 they weren't country, just alt!

Opinions seem kind of mixed. Think i'll go for whichever's i come across first. Skint now anyway cause i just booked a holiday, and had to get myself a copy of circulus's album, but perhaps they belong in a thread of thier own.

I prefer 1234, it's more 'Kula Shaker' than Cowboys & Indians. Even when I love Folk and Alt-Country...

well, if it helps at all...most of my friends who are really into music but hadn't listened to either album prefer 1234 - and i suppose, if i was a neutral and had to evaluate c + i in comparison to the other 3 albums, i would have to say it is the weakest...
