OK Moti, I had a brief look at your link - being the curious sort of person I am - and I found some other videos and took a glimpse of them.

Now, when it comes to religion & philosophy, I always come to the same conclusion: most people take what bits they want from it, and leave out the bits they don't.

Prime example: Muslims do it all the time. The Koran says that men should cover themselves up just like the women. Purdah applies only to married men & women.
But just look around - I've noticed that the men have shirked this duty completely, whilst the women are all clad like Ninjas - plus alot of them aren't even married!

See what I mean? Clearly convenience has replaced faith in that case.

I think there are alot of aspects of Krsna consciousness that make huge sense and I won't dispute - but I can't swallow all of it.

Give me a break. I'm normal!

Prabhupada was a good & very intelligent man, but I don't agree with his views on women - saying we were all impure & that's why we should never BE ALLOWED independance [I read that in an ISKCON book, by the way]. Basically because I think it's complete BOLLOCKS. If you're going to start handing out labels like that, you've got to be prepared to wear one yourself. Since when were men not impure aswell? And how does anyone know that 'God' gave men the right to boss women about? That's the one thing I think he should've reconsidered.
Mind you, he was a man - which immediately was bound to cause massive potential for human error. All of his views and teachings come from a man's perspective.

I'm just glad I'm never having children. Now THERE'S a can of worms I never want to open!

'tis I indeed! Big Grin

yes, Jasmine - you've rumbled me! Big Grin

by the way - thankyou for your support of my views in this matter. Smiler

you know my aim is not to be offensive - I just say what I think.

it's nice to see you here for a change. Smiler

luv,
jenny.xxxxxx. Smiler

P.S: about the 'never having children' bit - you know I love children, Jasmine...

but I would never make a good parent. Bearing that knowledge in mind - it would be very irresponsible of me to have children.

children need good parents.

Whilst we're on the subject, I took my car into the garage yesterday to get the drive shaft and cam belt replaced, and it's taken longer than it should have and cost me nearly £500. On top of that, I went to the offie last night and they were out of Curly-Wurlys. Damn you, Illuminati!!!
