"To mark 50 years of great British music, the UK’s biggest music magazine, Q, and the nation’s favourite music retailer, HMV, are teaming up to crown the best ever British album – as voted for by you!
Just pick your 3 favourite British albums of the last 50 years (released between 1958 and 2008). The vote is only open to artists from the UK - so Belfast's Van Morrison is OK, Dublin's U2 are not.

To make things even more enticing, everyone who votes will be entered into a grand prize draw. One winner will win a gold disc of the album voted Number 1 by the great British public and all of the Top 50 albums featured in the Best Ever British Album vote.
Plus 49 runners up will win one of the albums featured in the final Top 50 albums list."

50 Best British Albums

You vote for three albums so if everyone votes for K and two others you never know...

(I think it makes sense not to split the Kula vote between K and PPA unless you vote for both) Smiler

Actually I think it'd be more appropriate for everyone to vote for PP&A, if only because Q are running this competition, and they were the ones who put PP&A in their "50 worst albums of all time" list. So it would annoy them way more if PP&A was in there compared to K...

That just shows how rediculous these lists are - they've obviously never listened to it.

You can already guess what the top 10 will be. Something like this(in no order)...

Moring Glory
Definately Maybe
Revolver
Sgt. Peppers
OK Computer
The Stone Roses
Whatever People Say I am That's What I'm Not
Dark Side Of The Moon
London Calling
Exile on Main Street

Zero - Van Morrison is not OK, he's bob Smiler

I voted for K... because it probably stands more chance of random votes than PPA, so if we all tried concentrated voting on that one album, you never know. Though i admit it's unlikely. Perhaps this should get a mention on the main kula section of the forum too? Would be good to push it for all it's worth...

Let's be realistic here: this is about the best British albums ever (!). No matter how excellent an album like "K" is, there's no way that it can be competitive to stuff like "London Calling", "Sticky Fingers", "Sgt. Pepper's", "Dark Side Of The Moon", "Never Mind The Bollocks" to name a few classics that are real milestones in (British) rock music.
I have the feeling that "Ok Computer" will end in the top 3, though (unrightfully, if you ask me).

I take your point, but the reality is that fans of other bands will vote for albums by their own favourite bands regardless of the lack of genuine significance, so if they're doing it then there's no reason why KS fans shouldn't do it also.

Also I really doubt there's enough people here to even affect the 50th position, never mind the top 10, so it's a moot point anyway.
