Any fans on here? Went to see them last night and they were awesome! Ian Anderson is the only original member but I don't think that takes anything away from it. They sold out 2 nights here in Prague at a venue that holds 3,000 so they're still pretty popular! Mother Goose was the highlight.

Yeh he mentioned Ritchie Blackmore, talking about how Blackmore had covered one of their songs. Incidentally didn't Crispian cite Ritchie Blackmore as a big early influence?

Of course!Blackmore influenced many players
He is one of the greatest guitar players of all time, this is for sure |

Well, Martin Barre almost counts as having been there from the very beginning, doesn't he?
Anyway, Jehtro Tull absolutely rock. Especially at gigs. I hoped they played Mother Goose in the gig, it's just brilliant live. Gods have no one to pray to. |

On a slightly differnet note, listening to Aqualung today made me realise how much I underappreciated Mother Goose before hearing it live. Incredible ho some songs never seem to find their place in the album version. A similar thing happened to me ith Temple of Everlasting Light TBH - I geenrally thought it a aste of space for 10 whole years, til Kula started playing it live. Hearing those bootlegs made me realise how brilliant it is (and then of course, hearing it live myself)..
Gods have no one to pray to. |
