Never seen any of his films, but was looking forward to The Dark Night.

I'm sure he had a lot more to give the acting world, I've enjoyed a fair few of his films...it's a shame he couldn't kick the drugs for his little girl, and for his future.

The Ministry has fallen. Scrimgeour is dead. They are coming.

I liked the way he got into character for the Joker...didn't he go in isolation for a month or two, change his sleep patterns etc. to get more of a feel for that role? Wonder if his death was related to any of this..?
Neverthless, a true method actor.

Yes, he probably did more drugs too. I'm looking forward to seeing that. Do you think he'll be better than jack nicholson? Mmmm - not sure.

I thought they hadn't finished filming it all and it's left the project in limbo?:-S

Oh right - not sure. I just assumed it was finished. Not listened to the news much recently so don't know that much about it. I think if it was 80% finished, they'd find a way of completing it - especially in this situation.

Was it not due out over here in june? So in the US it'll be about March/April? Just a guess but if that's the correct release date I'd say it was finised.

Release dates were supposed to be 18th july (US) and 25th july (UK).

Just been on youtube watching a trailer, he does look like he could be better than Jack. I like his smudged make-up.

The Batman film was finished, but he was half way through another film. I can't remember what it was though.

Yes VERY sad news indeed, a great young actor and a tragic loss!

The Dark Knight was finished, not sure what affect this will have on its release(if any) but i'd expect it still to be out in the summer as planned.

Think the film he was currently involved in was a Terry Gilliam production, dont have any details other than that to share though!

Yeah, it was a Terry Gilliam film called "Imagination of Doctor Pernassus". About a man who in a bet with the Devil, wins immortality, due for release in 2009. That's about all I know. Still, what a waste of a young life. 'tis very sad.

Terry Gilliam's recent film-making career seems to have been blighted by things going wrong during the production of his movies. "Cursed" is a somewhat emotive word, but it doesn't seem that far wide of the mark either.

A shame about Ledger, although I'd not seen any of his films. So it'd be silly of me to say what a great actor he was. But other people seem to hold his work in high regard, and I'm sure they do so with good reason.

Oh well, just another risk taker (addict) who has lost his gamble. I don't want to glorify that kind of irresponsible behaviour coz he's someone famous. I feel very sorry for his parents though.
