See Crispian's latest tour blog.
So no more Kevin Nixon / MajorMinor, et cetera? Could this be why Crispian's suddenly uberconfident on the promo front? (not that a new management company will change much, IMHO) __________________________________________________________________ I'm an A1 major-league sociopath http://www.gorillaz-unofficial.com http://www.myspace.com/gorillaz http://www.kulashaker.net |

Hey 2-J, Why so negative? The power of positive thinking can move mountains you know! S

Not negative, just realistic. Having followed Crispian's stuff religiously for 6+ years and with some minor experience in the music industry..
Anyway, my main point *here* isn't about my doubting new management will make a change, just wondering if anyone had any more info (or even opinions) on what a 'new management company' means for Kula. __________________________________________________________________ I'm an A1 major-league sociopath http://www.gorillaz-unofficial.com http://www.myspace.com/gorillaz http://www.kulashaker.net |

Well I think it is a good thing they are travelling around Europe with them to get an impression. I guess we have to wait and see what their plans are for the bands. More promotion would certainly do them good cos adverts are very important after all.

They change management as often as they do their pants! I'd e-mail Julia Nixon, but that seems a bit predatory when I haven't spoken to her in years...
Anyway, whoever the new management team might be, it sounds as though they're being proactive. The Ministry has fallen. Scrimgeour is dead. They are coming. |

Well hasn't Crispian been with Kevin Nixon for the majority of his career?
Someone with one of the Kula bios can probably reveal when Kula signed with him but it was relatively early on right? And then Crispian parted ways with him in 1999 after the Kula breakup. But he took him back on as his manager in 2001 after Kevin Nixon got him out the Sony contract. And he was with Major Minor throughout his time with the Jeevas (and then the start of Kula as well??). __________________________________________________________________ I'm an A1 major-league sociopath http://www.gorillaz-unofficial.com http://www.myspace.com/gorillaz http://www.kulashaker.net |

But when did Kevin Nixon leave? Was he also their manager when they reformed? Well I didn't spot any suspicious looking guys in Cologne, don't think they were there. And tourmanagement was still the same.

What happened to Sarah - the one that Tree used to lead around riding an elephant?

I don't think they've worked together since the Jeevas split up though - Sarah and Kevin ended up focussing more on their roles at BIMM, which were probably more profitable! I know from an article that he was definitely on board in early 1996...but that's all I know...

And what happened to Tree...
She had sent me a bunch of badass CD's when I was in college. I had sent her some, but she claimed she never received them and then she vanished. |
