Dear All,

I act as a co-organiser of Shalbourne Festival, a music festival based near Hungerford, Wiltshire. Website - http://www.shalbournefayre.co.uk/

Following large growth over recent years we are now looking to book the headline act for the two day event this summer. Provisional dates for the 2008 event are Friday 3rd July and Saturday 4th July but are flexible.

The 2008 festival sees significant sponsorship from a UK company with extensive business interest in West Africa. We expect a crowd of between 5,000 – 10,000 and we have a unique feature whereby, in connection with our main sponsor, we are running a "Battle of the Bands" contest in Liberia, West Africa over a 3 month period with TV and radio coverage. The winners will be brought to the UK to perform at the festival. We expect this to add significantly to the press coverage of our event.

Commercial radio will also broadcast live from the event.

We would be very interested in booking Kula Shaker as the headliner for the festival and so I would appreciate appropriate contact details from anyone who can help.

Many thanks,

Adam Sargent

Someone asked a similar question a while ago and was advised to send a message to the band's Myspace. Apparently, the admin of that is in contact with the management.

You seem to have a nice little festival. My eyes also caught the beer section on your website Big Grin

Great, thanks. Will try that now.

Our festival is growing every year and we have some real money to spend on the headliners for 2008 via the sponsorship.

Oh dear, not too familiar with the whole MySpace thing!

Exactly where on their page is the contact information or where can I post the message?

There should be a box on the left hand side near the top labelled "contacting kula shaker" with a link to send a message inside. If you don't get that then it may be because you're not signed up? I am, so it's hard to tell. I'm sure the admin of the myspace site will see this thread anyway Smiler

This sounds great Adam, would be brilliant to see K:S headline a festival like this. Hope you manage to pull it off.

I checked out the whole website by now and I'm 100% convinced that Kula would make an excellent headliner at an happening like the Shalbourne Festival. Interesting for me personally is that Hungerford seems to be near Reading so I definitely would consider to cross the Channel if you would be able to book the band. Hope we'll hear from you again with good news Smiler
