Lets not forget tremolo, lots of tremolo.

I don't think so. I would like to see some high quality pics of Crispian's Strats myself...

m2 provided these very nice pics from a Japanese magazine once:

http://kulashakermusic.groupee.net/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/8...191002802#3191002802

m2: just out of curiosity, how good quality are those pics in the magazine itself? If you did a larger scan at a higher resolution someday (no hurry, obviously), would you be able to see more detail in the photos? I only ask because I can't remember seeing any other pics of just these two guitars on their own without anything else blocking the view (usually Crispian himself is heh)

Wow cool pictures. Thanks M2. I guess that kind of spoils andrea's next fanzine artical though. Never seen that squier 12 string before. I remember reading somewhere that he used this to record smart dogs.

I have some decent pictures of the peacock one but it's whilst it's being played. Really close up though and it's before digital cameras were around (or before I had one anyway) so they're good quality pics.

It's possible "Smart Dogs" was recorded on it. It was certainly used live in mid '97 a bit (Crispian plays a couple of songs at the Irving Plaza gig on it, including "Into The Deep".) And from memory he also plays "Drop In The Sea" on it at Glastonbury '97. There's also an advert for Squier that Crispian did, where I think he's holding it?

It would be very cool if you would post them...

Hmmm the talk about the Squier 12-string made me start googling in idle curiosity:

Note the user name of the most-recent review posted. Coincidence presumably (or another Crispian fan) but still heh

I know that Crispians Black (think its a 1979) strat is the old george cross strat but with a black scratch plate and emg pick ups fitted. The amp is i think a 90s twin the one after the red know twins (however he used to use a red know twin) the effects pedals consist of pedals by moollon including octah fuzz, tremolo, dist and overdive, boost, line 6 delay modeler, wah, also i think he uses an mxr micro amp and mxr compressor
I hope this helps you find the sound
