Can someone help me out please? I was looking through HMV.co.uk and there was a version of Kollected with a different tracklisting - starting with Greatful, and has other tracks including Great Hosannah, Raagy One and Goodbye Tin Terriers.
Then I looked on play.com and there was a version for £36 (!) with a bonus DVD. I have what I thought was the only version with 16 tracks on, starting with Sound of Drums and ending with Govinda. Someone help me out please! Is one of these Japanese/American and are they worth getting? |

The one with the DVD is the Japanese one, however the CD part of it is identical to the UK one; it doesn't have the three extra tracks you mentioned. To be honest I'm not sure which version of Kollected does have those tracks, but I'm sure someone here can tell you.
As for whether they're worth getting, the Japanese one is definitely worth having, since it's the only place you can get those seven promo videos in DVD quality. "I have waited to be here Now I feel you, feel you near Take me home" |

There are only two versions, strictly speaking, the regular one and an edition with a bonus DVD containing all the band's videos from 'first time around', excluding Sound Of Drums, Tattva (US version) and Hush (US version). But the CD of the CD+DVD edition has the same tracklisting as the regular CD version.
The CD+DVD edition was only released in Japan and it was a limited release (but not very limited in numbers, it's not too hard to find, or didn't used to be). There have been sites which advertise a different tracklisting; I conjecture that (perhaps before Crispian got involved) there was a preliminary tracklisting. Certainly there seems to be an alternate tracklisting that certain sites agree with each other on. But to clarify, - there is only one tracklisting for all editions of the Kollected CD. Oh yeah and as a final note. Some UK / Euro pressings of the CD have a slipcase (the same design as the album cover and back cover - pretty pointless) , and some don't. But that's the only other variation. er, and (as with most Japanese releases) the Japanese editions (the CD and CD+DVD) have a little Japanese booklet, notable for having exclusive liner notes from Crispian in English and Japanese). __________________________________________________________________ I'm an A1 major-league sociopath http://www.gorillaz-unofficial.com http://www.myspace.com/gorillaz http://www.kulashaker.net |

Cheers dudes. I think I'll wait till I can find a DVD version of it on ebay, rather that paying £36 from play.com!

You'll find that copies of that version on eBay tend to be fairly rare and don't go for much less than the play.com price. Although as always with eBay you might luck out and find an auction that no-one else has noticed. "I have waited to be here Now I feel you, feel you near Take me home" |
