And new pictures too, Alonza's looking very nice, though his roll-up is pretty pathetic looking. You'd think a long term dope/cigarette smoker like our Lonz would be better and making them.

Jonny Kalsi is a living genius. Will hopefully be interviewing him in the next week or 2.stay tooned.

Summary of the news:-

1) confirmation of the release of the Japanese EP, release date TBA, but before the album.

2) Album was finished at the end of 2006. Some Bsides recorded in January. Mixing taking place now. Deadline for completion of material February 19th.

3) Sony Japan to continue to release Kula Shaker stuff in Japan. Labels for ROW TBC.

4) some kind of change in the management personnel

5) Updates for the website coming.

6) Podcast on 4th February.

Where has all this info come from? I would take a wild guess and say 'K' but theres no mention of the podcast on the myspace page. I can't see any news updates on the official site either, is my internet slow again? (The new photos are cool though).

But in actual fact, I doubt there will be a true podcast from KS, more likely just a direct download of an mp3 from the site.

I've already been there actually you snooty thing, hence why I said I don't understand the internet jargon. I didn't understand the answer Google gave me. For instance, how do you download it - is it like an MP3 file? Can you save it? Can you put it on a portable device that isn't an ipod? What are the advatanges of podcasts over says an MP3 file or one of those RealPlayer things (that personally I think are probably easier to download)?

The answers to all your questions are actually in the wikipedia article (I checked) and it should be clearly understandable to someone with intelligence enough to read English at a good university.

But to be charitable.

"how do you download it - is it like an MP3 file"

the actual content of the podcast is in a media file (usually mp3) and the associated feed file just tells the computer when a new episode is out, and where to download the media file, etc.

Once downloaded, the media file can be manipulated like any other file of its class.

The 'pod' part of the term may have come etymologically from iPod, but there the connection with that particular media player ends.

The advantage of podcasting is you don't have to go to the site and download the file, the computer will 'know' when a new file is available thanks to the feed file, and will download the new episode automatically.


But, as I did say before, I expect KS won't be true podcasting at all, just offering a direct download of an mp3 file.
