All it is is the K CD stuck on top of a record (this could be any old record) which has been gold plated. And then they have the cheek to say it's limited edition and charge £85.

Who do you go to to stop these things being sold? There must be something illegal going on here.

overpriced arts & crafts project -- not illegal

misrepresenting overpriced arts & crafts project as official stuffs -- borderline illegal

there's so much annoying text n fonts there i can't really tell what they're claiming, however.

I find those things annoying too, but I don't think it breaks any laws. They're not claiming it's a gold disc as presented to the band for x number of recolds sold; just that it's a "gold disc." Which it is.

I'm sure a lot of them do get sold to people who mistakenly think it's the genuine article, but then that's their fault imho for just seeing what they want to see.

i'm inclined to agree. anyone stupid enough to buy this gets what they deserve, even though the seller deserves worse (and is probably giving it to himself somehow, have no fear). there's this insipid symbiosis between government invasiveness and stupidity -- "laws and lawsuits will protect me, so i don't have to think for myself." "this product is in a store, so it must be safe." "it's on a well-known auction site, it must be legit..."

Yeah I can see what you both mean but it's still wrong. Even I thought for a minute "Ahh, if only I had £87", before I had a closer look. I know you can't expect the law to think for you. I hate the law for similar reasons. Without the law people might actually have morals and not do things just because it is legal to do so. Like this idiot for example.

And the title is just confusing in itself - 'K CD GOLD DISC RECORD LP'

Damn I nearly bought it too! Then I realised it was K and I'd already got that one.

I'm still tempted to get it as a spare though, 'cause it's a great bargain and half the price that I paid for mine.

Well, if it’s a genuine gold painted PP&A I would be crazy to turn down the offer. But I’m not that stupid that I’d buy it for £170. Would you take £169.50 and I’ll pay the extra £30 for 2nd class post?

Ooooooh! Definitely tea. Although, mind, less of the tea if you go for real good quality green tea rather than your average English Breakfast one.
