I haven't played it for a while but from memory I think it's just a radio edit of MMG with a shortened ending. Which would explain why it's only on a promo and nowhere else. It's a bit disappointing considering how promising the title is...

I'll dig it out and give it another listen in case there's more to it than that.

Just got them this morning! Gonna take me a while to get it all organised and transferred. But at a first glance your version of "The Same But Different" looks significantly better than the one from Domino (or maybe it's just that it doesn't hate my VCR as much heh.) Though all thanks still to Domino, cos if I hadn't put up his one then this probably wouldn't have surfaced any time soon either Smiler

Oh the version on Kollected isn't the PP&A version? Didn't realise that. That gives me three versions to compare now heh. Although if you're certain then I'm happy to take your word for it Smiler

I swear I added this comment last night (perhaps to the wrong thread knowing me!) but I just wanted to say thanks James too for these B-side downloads.

I don't know whether it's because I'm a Mac user, but I can't download the multiple file page, only the single file downloads. I've got quite a few B-sides anyway, but would it be possible to upload certain tracks please?

Many thanks if that's ok.

Hi Huggy thanks for the kind words. Let's see if we can help you out downloading the whole package first and if that fails then I'll upload individual tracks.

So just a little step by step on how to get the tracks (that you're using a Mac shouldn't make a difference, and because you're in the UK, it's virtually guaranteed that megaupload will work for you).

Firstly, click the megaupload link above the list of Bsides. That should open a new window as seen in the first picture below. Then follow the annotated instructions on the picture that I've provided.

When you do those three things in order, then the screen will change and you get the screen shown below. You'll see a counter counting down to 0. Let it go all the way to zero.

When it has counted to zero you should see that in the place of the countdown, it now says 'free download'. Simply click that to start the download and save it in the same way as you would with a download from savefile or anywhere else.

One problem you might have at this stage is that it might say that you have to wait a certain number of minutes because you've exceeded your download limit. If it says that then try again after the specified time.

If you have any problems with this let me know at which stage things are going wrong. If there really is an underlying problem then I'll be glad to upload individual tracks. Maybe this guide will be of some use to others anyway as well.

I'm pretty sure all the versions on Kollected of the singles are hte radio edited ones, not the full versions from the album. Govinda is also cut, and I think there's spomething odd in SoD as well - can't remember as I haven't lsitened to Kollected in ages, but I remember getting annoyed with it Big Grin
MMG n.2 ends with a big bang but other than that it's the radio edit. Methinks.

Unless someone has it on mp3/ cd.... if I get my way it'll find its way to mp3 soon. I got it on tape.
Hold on... that tape was recorded from the video bootleg methinks. You might get it in video courtesy of drykid soon Big Grin

That'll be it, I think. I knew it was shorter than the album cut, but I was convinced there was something else, and I think you're right - there's an explosion at the end. Kind of pointless, really. And anyway everyone knows the world ends not with a bang, but a whimper :P

Yeah, I can upload the Revolution For Fun tour version, as I've already transferred it. Probably will be a while before I get round to sharing the whole thing, as there's higher priority things on there - for instance, the version of "2 Meter Sessies" on your tape is way better than the DVDR one that's doing the rounds (PAL-NTSC conversion with messed up sound to boot. Euch!) But this version is first rate Smiler

Completely agree about 2 meter sessies. It's both in great quality and it's a wonderful gig, I love the way they played the songs there. It's a shame they don't play with Johnny Kalsi more often! Frowner
The London Forum one is a good gig, but the quality isn't all that good - well, video bootleg, I can't imagine how it could have been better!

But boy, already transferred? God, you're fast! Big Grin

Well, it just happened to be the first thing on the first tape I put in. Actually I've transferred it twice; I did it a second time cos I wasn't happy about the first go at it :P

It's very good for an audience boot though. As someone who occasionally sneaks the odd track off at gigs I've got a lot of admiration for someone with the determination to do that for 90 minutes solid (even if a lot of them are usually in it for the money.)

Thanks a bunch. Kula Shaker is brilliant. I'm looking forward to conversing with all their great fans on this forum.

In all fairneess, I've only ran into a couple of people who insisted on selling bootlegs. Most people were happy trading Smiler
