As far as I know all the links in this thread are still working. If you're having trouble with Megaupload, check out my guide to using it on page 2 of this thread. __________________________________________________________________ I'm an A1 major-league sociopath http://www.kulashaker.net |

I don't know the exact date of the filmed one, but April '97 sounds about right for the tour in question. So unless they played consecutive nights at Irving Plaza on that tour, I'd say it's almost certainly the same one. There's a surprisingly good quality film of the whole show (I guess it was filmed for possible TV showing.) I don't know that anyone's ever uploaded it anywhere, although it circulates on DVDR (got mine from eBay.) It's on my list of things to upload sometime, along with a million other things *sigh* "I have waited to be here Now I feel you, feel you near Take me home" |

I have on my HD a show supposedly from 19th April, rather than 20th. Guess it's the same performance. Far too many breaks due to the DJ, but the sound quality is awesome.
***************************************** Kula Shaker Irving Plaza, New York City 1997-04-19 Radio Introduction Hey Dude Knight On The Town 303 Grateful When You're Dead/Jerry Was There Tattva Hollow Man Gokula Hush Govinda (includes I Feel Free) Quality: A (FM) Length: 1 CD (56 minutes)(actually 47!!) Notes: "The Album Network" broadcast ************************************************ I wouldn't usually do this and will probably be disowned by some traders, but in thanks to 2-J for all his wonderful boots and in order to give back something to this mad little community, I am currently putting up a 320 bit mp3 version - watch for it in the morning (BST), once I've uploaded (4 hours to go due to ISP cap probs I would love to see the DVD version if someone could trade. |

I can probably dig out of a video of it. If it's an mp3 you want then I tend to leave those to other people really. "I have waited to be here Now I feel you, feel you near Take me home" |

They did, methinks. The set list fits 96, not 97.... and the date on my cd is 96. Well, there's one grea way to check - the last song is Knight on the Town togetehr with PUSA. it can't be that they did it in two differnet gigs, so unless it's also the case in 97, they played it in 96 JJCrowe - I'll try and upload it, hopefully my connection will let me do it Gods have no one to pray to. |

Sorry, I had to fix your tags; I couldn't help myself :P Interesting set list; so we still think this is from Irving Plaza, November 1996? It's definitely not the April 1997 Irving Plaza one, anyways. "I have waited to be here Now I feel you, feel you near Take me home" |

LoL, fuixed them myself now
No, I finally listened to the 1997, it's deifnitely not the same gig. I was terying to access Mina's old webpage, she used to have a list of all the KS gigs to check if there was a gig in that date, but it's offline now... if someone's got a copy of hte first edition of Andrea's fnazine (the 2000 one), I think there was a copy of the list there as well. But I'm pretty sure the listing on the CD is correct, it also feels like a 96 setlist, Under the Hammer, Goodbye Tin Terriers and all that. Gods have no one to pray to. |

Ahh ok; it makes more sense to me now then; obvioulsy the show I was familiar with was during their second visit, after all. It's also likely that the TV recording is from the 19th of April '97 as well as the radio broadcast (can't prove it; but it doesn't seem likely to me that they'd record one show for radio and another for tv when they could kill two birds with one stone.) So I doubt if either broadcast is from the 20th when you were there. Pretty close though! "I have waited to be here Now I feel you, feel you near Take me home" |
