i'm normally a coffee drinker, as it combines a one-two punch of high caffeination and deconstipation. however, the king kula shaker hath laideth down his decree: drink tea, for the love of god. so, while working on a voltage controlled filter last night, i decided to drink green tea instead, so as not to be a clod.

results??

in the cold workshop, i found the warm beverage a lovely alternative to water, and i was less fidgity than when i drink coffee. the cooling of the tea and my bladder still forced me to take regular breaks. however, i was missing the caffeine by the end of the night....

the filter worked on the, er, second try. after the first try, i realized i'd forgotten to plug the chips into the sockets, an oversight i blame on being awake all night and having no caffeine.

after i put the chips in, it worked like charm, however.

as a bonus, here are ice crystals on my window after i extracted myself from the shop

On the orders of King Kula Shaker, I'm spreading the word.
Those b*stards at The Independent have just received an e-mail from me about the following:
1. How good it is to drink tea.
2. How wrong they were about Sir Crispian Mills many moons ago.
Spread the word people - tea and Kula Shaker are good for the soul.

Earl Grey is the best tea, though I believe Alonza does favour PG Tips. Obviously a keen but not refind palette Wink

i am not sure how you managed to conclude this from my post... my response, however, is thus: i like some kinds of pie, but not others.

edit: okay, i realized, it must be the pie-pan. if the picture went more to the right, you'd see my soldering iron sitting in that piepan. as it's there to keep things neat and i often bang excess solder off the iron into it, that piepan has a healthy coating of lead. its pie-baking days are over.

my family is actually fairly tea-batty and we have a baffling variety stocked, i'll check to see if we have that... remember, however, that i am not in england, and my purchasing options may consequently be more limited.

to be honest, i never got into earl grey or such. i always felt compelled to load it down with milk and sugar, which i'm sure you'll agree kind of defeats the point.

green tea, however, always made taste-sense naked and natural to me.

You can't beat a good cup of Yorkshire Tea, though I'm too skint and have to settle for tetleys at the moment...

Basically, if you're abroad (like the USA), you want to be looking for English Breakfast Tea. PG tips, Tetley and Yorkshire Tea are all basically English Breakfast.

And do not put lemon in it like everyone tried doing when I was in America! It must be milk.

someone must have read my mind, because a module of earl gray appeared in the tea repository. i find its taste acceptable and caffeination agreeable.

drinking tea and build an LFO:

and since we're here, perfboard porn:

except for the tits, this wasn't intentional. i just drew back at one point, and there it was. i felt compelled to add the tits before photographing, just to make things more clear.
