Well Paul, I think, said in Edinburgh that there would be an autumn tour so fingers crossed for that. And according to official sources the band is off into the studio to record the album at the beginning of Spetember, it's expected out later this year. It may also feature another song collaboration with Audrey Evans, I think, called Shadow.

It was, but then again it didn't feature any Medieval Babe-ing. Just not my bag.

Personally I hope they ditch the idea of an autumn tour and just work on the album so they have it finished by early 2006, then go out on a mighty spring tour to herald the album release. Having said that, if they played in London again of course I'd be there.

Well I strongly doubt any of the collaborative tracks will feature Mediaeval Baebe-ing as you put it - Audrey's been in a fair few rock bands too so they're all written from that perspective. She hasn't introduced Kula Shaker to Latin chanting or hurdy-gurdys!

Eeker

But... but... this means they aren't going to sign to a record company?

Please no. Without a good company behind them, it'll be the Jeevas all over again. Wasted potential.

Well, I guess the single could be a self-financed thing, with an album on a proper label. Given the state of the charts these days singles hardly sell anything anyway. So getting something out there and getting press coverage and airplay is more important than it being in every branch of Woolworths. And I guess for that you don't need a major label, just an efficient plugger.

Oooo just had to stop myself from typing that there.

In terms of labels, I think the band will be a bit more cautious, what with all the bad stoff that happened to em when they were at Sony Columbia. Even if they sign to an Indie label, does not mean they caan't make another go of things again. They have a pretty strong fan base, and have been getting a top reception at the festivals. I think the only people that will try and stop this "revival" (Lauren Lavernes words, not mine) will be the music press. And as well all know these days, the music press are a just a bunch of wankers.

NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW THE TRUE IDENTITY OF THEELITIST
