So it seems Oasis have split.
I wonder what will happen to Jay Darlington?
I've nothing against Harry whatsoever but I can't help thinking if we might see KS reforming in their original line up sometime?

Hmm interesting point; I heard the news about Noel Gallagher last night, but I must admit that I didn't think of it from the KS perspective. On reflection I don't think it will change anything though; firstly because I imagine the various parts of Oasis will still continue to perform under one name or another. And therefore that Jay will be involved in that still. And secondly because I think that Harry is very much a permanent member of KS now. It's hard to imagine him being given his notice in favour of someone they haven't played with for years, and who always had a somewhat fractious relationship with the rest of the band (or at least that's the impression that I've gotten.)

I'm pretty pleased that Noel has left anyway; I hope it's permanent. I think they've been treading water musically for a long time. Their last album is the first one that I've not even bothered checking out at all - I doubt that I've missed much. I've always felt that the rot began to set in around the time that Liam and others started writing songs for the band. When Noel was completely in charge of that side of things the quality control was so much higher, it seems to me. I'm looking forward to a solo album from Noel that (hopefully) recaptures what it was I loved about the band when I first heard them in 1994.

Jay has made his choice, back in 2005. I doubt he either expects to be back or even is going to ask/consider it. People move on, the keyboard player for KS is Harry, that's that, I'd say.

Oasis split, huh? Well, considering Oasis is, essentially, Noel and Liam and they're brothers, I don't know how lond it's going to last.

I'm with Drykid - Oasis have not been a band I have listened to for a long time - the only songs I actually like, with the exception of Live Forever, are sung by Noel so a solo album would be good. It would have been better if Noel had kicked Liam out the band though...

It didn't even cross my mind about Jay and the possibilities of returning to Kula Shaker. I always forget he plays with them. I really can't imagine him going back, unless Harry quits or is sacked and I can't see that happening. I think Jay suited the image of the band better but I'd rather have someone who's up for it. Mad for it!

I'm glad Oasis have split up. 12 years too late if you ask me. If they'd have split after Be Here Now they would have left a stronger legacy behind like The Stone Roses did. People just got sick of them towards the end. There were about 3 or 4 good songs off the last 4 albums and they would have still been written if they split after BHN because Noel wrote them. They would have just been Noel solo songs. I'm looking forward to hearing Noel's solo stuff if he goes for a change in sound. I can't be arsed hearing the same old boring shit. He should see the split as an opportunity to be more experimental.
