I just happen to have come across a video, of Mr Mills performing at a one off charity gig, as far as I know it's the only copy in existence, the band seem to be made up of a ramshackle crew, not sure who is who. The gig it's self is really quite excellent. The opening song is an old TV theme tune, those of you not old enough remember 'The Fall Guy', was an old 70's show, staring Lee Majors, the song is callled 'The Unknown Stuntman'. The second song is an old Monkee's song called 'Circle Sky', which Crispian apparently recorded whilst in his solo time. The third song 'What goes on' is a version of the Velvet Underground classic & the final song an awesome version of 'Govinda', this version of the song moves in an out of the title track, mixing The Doors 'The End' over the 'hey dude riff in the middle, then dropping back into 'Govinda' again to a massive finish. Iain Lee is the compare for the night, not quite sure what the gig was for, but all I kow is it's 16 minutes of prue class.

The gig also has Simon from Bucky playin the tamborine, quite well I might add. Also the Iain Lee in question is the guy that was on the '11 O'clock show'.

I guess it was this gig:

Also there was supposed to be a follow-up the next year with The Jeevas / Bucky / Don Pecker amongst others, although it seems it was sadly cancelled.

I don't suppose there's any chance of you sharing this video with the rest of us?

The video is on VHS & sadly I wouldn't have a bloody clue how you would go about getting it put on the web. Bucky did play that night, Also Don played to , him n Crispian did a version of 'Hurry on Sundown' Crispian playing the harmonica & some backing , with 3 drummers! But sadly this is not on the tape. Was anyone actually at the gig?

Well, I can easily get it transferred and uploaded for you if you were willing to post the video to me. I can assure you it'd be treated with the utmost care and returned immediately. I totally understand that you might be reluctant to do this with something rare like that, but if you are willing to do the rest of us a huge favour then drop me an email at mrpleasant@hotmail.com and we could maybe discuss it.

Man, I have got the words to "The Unknown Stuntman" stuck in my head now! Hey Bandit, why not see if there are any places in the yellow pages that transfer VHS to DVD? I think the price has dropped considerably for that now - and I am sure that the people that are contributing to this thread at least would be willing to chuck in a couple of quid to cover the costs. For some reason, I tend to overlook downloads, but I loved the Fall Guy (yes i am that old), and to hear our Crispian playing it. Well that is an absolute must!

Well if it meant him being able to copy it then I'd be all for it, but having said that I can't see the sense in taking it to people who probably don't care in the slightest about its value, and will charge for the privilege of copying it, when he could send it to someone who will do it for nothing and who appreciates its value enough to ensure that nothing happens to it.

You are totally correct. All the Bandit would need to worry about paying would be for a special delivery. Did he per chance contact you? Or are we so far waiting with baited breath for nothing?

Bandit - I don't know drykid so well, but he seems a top notch bloke. I think your video would be safe with him. And just think, you could have it sent out to the masses, and have it immortalised on DVD, Then you don't have to worry about a video chewing it (considering it must now be a rather old tape).

Nope, not yet, but I haven't given up hope completely. To be honest I think getting on the guy's case would probably be a bad idea; hopefully if he has time to think it over he'll see the sense in it. For one thing he'd benefit himself if it was transferred to DVD, since he'd have his own copy that he could play as often as he liked without wearing out the tape (and obviously I'd make sure he got a DVD direct without having to worry about downloading stuff.) Then there's the warm glowing feeling you get inside from doing others a good turn...

Maybe it would be better if he took it to a professional. Not that drykid can't be trusted, but just for his piece of mind. If he had it transferred to two DVDs, then he could send one to drykid to get it uploaded.

I'm sure that jointly, certain users of this forum would meet his expenses. I personally pledge a contribution, if this option was favoured.

Well, whatever he'd be most happy with is fine by me. I just know that if I had something like that I'd rather entrust it to a fellow fan than someone who couldn't care less about anything as long as they got paid upfront, but that's just me :P
