I don't recall ever having seen anything from this gig before (where they stood in as last minute replacements for Placebo.) So it's worth mentioning that someone has uploaded the band's performance of "Govinda":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1FP0_VdWqY

According to the gigography on Dreamer's site, the band only played two more gigs after this one before splitting up. And the very final one (Lowlands Festival) was only eight days after this, which I guess makes this more important as a glimpse of the band right at the very end of their first phase...

Kool vid! My mate was at that gig the lucky bugger. I'd love to see them with percussionists and trumpet players and invisable Indian women backing singers. And I'd love to have been there just to witness the disappointment in the Placebo fans faces, he hee! Smiler

this is so cool. Never seen this. And as far as I know this is the only video where he is using the peacock guitar with the badge Wink
Btw did I ever mention I attented the Lowlands gig, met them afterwards and Jay told me how busy they were planning the new album?
*sigh*
There are pics somewhere. *starts searching*

Thanks for uploading drykid!
Not come across this one before either - and that peacock guitar. Always been my favourite.
They all looked so happy, who would have imagined what was in store for us fans just around the corner.

Well it's not my upload; just something I came across on youtube that I thought was worth drawing to other people's attention...

I was at that gig, going mental! couldn't believe it when my mate told me kula shaker were replacing placebo at the last minute. thought it was a wind up.
they got a mixed reaction as i recall, at one point someone lobbed a bottle of water at crispian and he picked it up and used it to play slide guitar! the best bit was whenn he said "sorry placebo fans but brian molko has gone for a loooong w@nk!". brilliant.

Ha ha! Worst band ever. Placebo is quite a suitable name though - as in, it's not real music but if we tell people it is then they might believe us.

I was there too!

In addition to the w*nk comment I seem to remember Crispian saying something about Brian probably being all alone in a dark room crying.

They won the crowd over in the end though. I remember A LOT of dancing.

Crispian at least must have known the band was over for these last-gasp summer shows (surely..)

But as for the vid, thanks for this, certainly any footage from 'the last shows' is of Kula-historic interest.. Smiler
