I don't know if this has already surfaced on here; I found it on another forum.

It's an audio rip of Govinda, Hush, and Tattva from the BBC highlights, and is available from here as a RAR file.

But, y'know, because I'm a considerate kinda guy, I figured that some people might not be able to extract RAR files.

Therefore, I converted them to MP3, zipped them up, and uploaded to rapidshare.

The three tracks can be downloaded as MP3s from here.

The quality is not as good as the originals cuz i had to compress them and then youtube turns then into flash. But they're alright.

I,ve got all 7 tracks in my itunes library. I'd be happy to email them to anyone who make them available to the masses. Tried 2-J but outlook crashes when I use any of his .net addresses.

OK, here's the three tracks I did record (Tattva / Hush / Govinda) split into eight parts to make downloading easier:

The bad news is that it's 450MB, sorry, but the good news is that the quality is great. I saved the digital feed from BBC3 directly to hard disk via my PC, so it should be indistinguishable from the original broadcast.

I had to use filefactory.com again, so for those who had difficulties before, just click on the links above, then click on option 2 ("Click here to download this file for free", wait 15 seconds, and then pick from the http, ftp or p2p link generated to download each part (I tend to find FTP works more reliably for me, but your mileage may vary.)

Confession time - I didn't read the start of this thread as I thought it was going to be another "are they going to be on bbc3?" question.

Apologies

Anyway, I'm in the middle of downloading the files so it's all good. I've never used winrar before and I want to combine the files to make one continous SVCD. Can you combine the file using winrar? Thinking back to the rec.misc newsgroup where I used to work, there was an option to combine large files that had been previously split apart to make them easier to post. I know applications like chainsaw split files but what do I need to do to make them into one video file?

Confused of Cottingham.

EDIT - Found various shareware apps that will combine the files but not sure which one to trust to do the job. Any recommendations?

You don't need a special application to join the files, because the archive when extracted only contains a single file. If you have the eight parts that I uploaded, open the first one with winrar (it'll detect the other seven automatically) and then extract then you'll end up with a single .mpg file, which you should then be able to use to make an SVCD (though as I said in another post, the resolution / bitrate of this mpeg exceeds the SVCD standards, so you may get warning messages.)

Thankyou very much squire, I see how winrar works now. Having to re-download part.3 as it originally came down as a 4mb file, but it looks like it's been recognised as the 57mb version now.

Many thanks for uploading the files, I didn't bother watching the TV coverage as I assumed auntie beeb wouldn't bother showing KS. D'oh!

Fnished the downloads at 02h30 this morning after I'd had to re-download part four as well as part three. Got the latest version of Nero today and I've created an SVCD from the original file.

Cheers drykid! Smiler

Just a note here, that more of set was shown again on BBC Scotland 2 weeks ago. I missed it, however a friend said he'd seen about 5 songs from kula shaker.

Whether he's tellin porkies, is anyones guess.

Well, they showed 32 mins worth on BBC-i originally, so it's possible that the BBC2 Scotland repeat showed that instead (BBC2 Scotland certainly is showing highlight programs every week, though since my satellite dish stopped working I haven't been able to watch myself.)

Anyway, I have a contact who recorded the whole BBC-i thing and is also recording the BBC2 Scotland highlight shows, so I'm confident that everything from KS that the BBC screened in one form or another will surface eventually Smiler
