it was a great show. the little acoustic performance was a great surprise - crispian and alonza played a gorgeous version of shower your love followed by a rather bizarre dictator... other highlights for me were harry's weird oriental-style shirt, be merciful, song of love, and jerry was there.

and those two drummers were fantastic. the whole band looked like they were having a great time. i quite liked the support too.

are you being funny? the support band were shocking, i mean seriously! there songs had no words and they all started with the guy "mu-num-mu-naring" into the mic.

kula on the other really pulled it out of the bag this time. jerry was there being the best crowd pleaser even if it was just for that one guy screaming for it the whole way through! i loved the new and alternative lyrics, cant wait to download it. be merciful was a beaut.

nah, i'm not being funny. i didn't think they were particularly good or anything, just interesting. it beats shite like the puzzle at bush hall & the enemy supporting the manics recently. i thought their set went on for far too long, and the songs were very similar to eachother... but they hit a groove at times. plus you couldn't fault the singer for effort.

kula though...
what can you say...

just brilliant.

I thought the female keyboardist was cute but otherwise the support were trying to be avant-garde ernest arty folk.

Kula though were mind blowing. I don't know where to start! Wasn't the acoustic set heavenly? Well done to the bloke who kept shouting out Jerry! I thought that Crispian was only going to play a few bars! What delight.

The energy and enthusiasm was awesome and they seemed to love it.

A big thank you to Alonza and Paul for signing the set list - cheers guys! Made me feel like 25 again!!

I will upload some pictures to myspace page when I get a minute.

I'm not so sure about this - I did see a guy with a camcorder down the front in the pit with the press guys, but he only seemed to shoot a bit at the start. I'd have thought if it was being filmed for TV then the presence of cameras would've been more obvious. I hope to be proven wrong though - it was well worth recording for posterity Smiler

As for the support band, I actually liked them. But they had a very low ley lo-fi kind of vibe to them that was a world apart from KS's showmanship. But if taken for what they were they were charming in their own way, I thought. Probably better than the more rock-oriented support at the two previous London gigs, I agree.

Duckman, I'm glad you made it! I'm sorry I couln't reply to you yesterday. I was already on the train down to London by that point. I had to leave just before 3pm to make it there on time.

The "free" ticket cost me £120 in train ticket, car parking, hotel and tube fares.

Was it worth it?

Feck yes! It was fantastic!

That's indeed what was printed on the setlist, cos I got a pic of it before they started. It's not exactly what they played though.

"Shower Your Love" actually preceded (rather than followed) "Dictator" in the acoustic set. And "Super CB Operator" was dropped in favour of "Jerry Was There" in the encore. As for "Bench"; I have no clue. Does this refer to a KS track? If so I have no clue which one. It never got played anyways, as they left the stage after Govinda.

OK, I can unravel it. Those pics were taken by a writer who wrote a review of the gig on that site (2-J mentioned above), it seems she is a freelance writer or something and lives in London. She won the ticket and went and saw it. So I think she is not a pro photographer Wink

By the way, this is her diary/blog.
